21C Learners @Web2 at Qatar AcademyInterview series created by Julie Lindsay, June 2009This series of interviews with women educators at Qatar Academy was inspired by the excellent immersion of 21st Century learning shown in classrooms across the school. in a time of transition into 1:1 learning and Web 2.0 platforms, these women have shown where there is a will there is a way. I admire their tenacity and determination to make learning real, personal and student-centred. I applaud their focus on global interaction and how they have embraced the concept, power and magic of global collaboration. This project is my swan-song at Qatar Academy as my two years as Head of IT and E-Learning has come to an end. However, by documenting and sharing best-practice initiatives in education for 21st Century learning my hope is that more teachers in Qatar Academy and beyond will be inspired to review their own practice and embrace new tools and methods. A special thank you to Ana, Gail, Lauralynn, Lubna and Jess for their willingness to contribute to this series and to bravely reflect on their own philosophy and practice and above all to share their success and journey. These are truly remarkable women, and I am proud to have been a witness. I am hoping also that the raw method used to create these videos will be overlooked in favour of hearing the message imparted by these women.
